Abstract

Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) are primary healthcare facilities that play a crucial role in providing basic health services in Indonesia, including in Simalungun Regency. However, the distribution of Puskesmas in this area is uneven due to diverse geographical characteristics and limited accessibility. Additionally, the lack of an integrated information system mapping the locations of Puskesmas makes it difficult for the public to obtain information about their locations and available healthcare services, such as general practitioners, dentists, laboratories, and nutritionists. This study aims to develop a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) to map the distribution of Puskesmas in Simalungun Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing the coordinate data of Puskesmas locations, which are processed in a web-based system. The system will provide information on the nearest Puskesmas based on categories and available healthcare services, including general practitioners, dentists, laboratories, and nutritionists. The findings of this study are expected to assist the Simalungun Regency Health Office in planning the equitable distribution of healthcare facilities and help the public access information about their targeted Puskesmas facilities.
