Agriculture is one way to meet food needs. Agriculture is the main economic sector. The role or involvement of the agricultural sector in the economic development process has occupied an important position. The Tanjungbalai City Agriculture Service is an agency that handles issues regarding agriculture in Tanjungbalai City such as managing data on plant types, agricultural production produced and agricultural lands. The problem is that the absence of agricultural land mapping in Tanjungbalai City has an impact on the lack of agricultural information to the community so that it is difficult for the community to know the development of agriculture, both knowing the area of land and types of plants in Tanjungbalai City. Therefore, a geographic information system is needed that can help the Tanjungbalai City Agriculture Service in managing agricultural land and designing optimal agricultural land management strategies. Based on the application of GIS technology in managing agricultural land in Tanjungbalai City that has been carried out, this system can help facilitate employees and the community to find out the locations of agricultural land accurately and provide information on agricultural land in Tanjungbalai City
