Abstract
So far, the owner of Optik Mutiara only predicts consumer demand for eyeglasses without the support of clear and precise data and calculations, therefore sometimes Optik Mutiara buys too few glasses even though the needs of buyers during that trend are increasing so buyers can move to other places or similar businesses. . Meanwhile, sometimes too many glasses are taken even though buyer demand is decreasing, therefore Optik Mutiara always finds it difficult to estimate demand for glasses for each sale so that income decreases as usual. Mistakes in decision making in determining the quantity of demand for glasses that are not in accordance with business needs can have an impact on buyers because demand is not fulfilled.To overcome the problems above, the author provides a solution using method comparison forecasting calculations, because it can provide a deeper and more detailed understanding of the advantages, weaknesses and relative performance of two or more methods used to achieve a goal or solve a problem. The method used is the Weighted Moving Average, where this method can be used to forecast purchases of eyeglass stock for the coming period.
