ACCEPTANCE OF SURVEY OFFICERS AT BPS TANJUNG BALAI WI
TH DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM WITH SMART METHOD

Population Survey is a way of collecting data that is carried out through t
he enumeration of samples from a population to estimate the characteristics
of objects at a specific time. Survey activities are mandatory and always
exist within BPS Tanjung Balai as a statistical data center. Survey activitie
s require loyal and competent officers in data collection by the specified ta
rget. To avoid obstacles that slow down the data collection process, of cou
rse, it takes the best officers from the results of the selection of survey offi
cers. However, the obstacles that often occur during selecting survey officer
s are the large number of potential participants who run for office and the
difficulty of determining which officers are good ones to recruit. Based on
this, to create a decision support system to facilitate and assist BPS Tanj
ung Balai in speeding up decision-making on the selection of survey officer
s. In this study, the method used is a Decision Support System with the Si
mple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method. The Simple MultiAttribute Rating Technique (SMART) is a multi-criteria decision-making met
hod. And each criterion has a weight that describes how important it is co
mpared to other standards. Its results in a ranking that is considered in th
e selection of survey officers.
