Abstract

Bananas are an important horticultural commodity in Indonesia. Bananas are not only easy to get because the harvest season lasts all year round, they are also very popular with the world community regardless of age. An expert system is a system that seeks to adopt human knowledge to computers so that computers can solve problems as is usually done by experts. With the lack of knowledge in the community about banana plant diseases, an expert system was created. This system is to assist farmers in overcoming various problems of banana plant diseases and provide information to the general public about the types of diseases found in banana plants. Making this application uses computer knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence, especially in the field of Expert Systems. The system is designed using a Knowledge Base and expert system development methods as a system development methodology. Making rules using the inference method using the Forward Chaining method by using forward tracking to identify diseases and symptoms so that they become facts and then traced to conclusions. This expert system is also made based on a review of direct interviews with an expert where the form of this application is a user chooses the symptoms that occur in banana plants and then will be processed and will produce conclusions in the form of diseases that attack the banana plant. The programming languages used are PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL for the database. Through the expert system that has been created, the user can diagnose the types of diseases that exist in banana plants based on the symptoms entered by the user or farmer.
