ABSTRACT

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM DESIGN WEBGIS-BASED BILLBOARD MAPPING

The Tanjungbalai Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) which manages billboard license applications already has hundreds of billboard data that will continue to increase over time where data processing is currently still carried out manually in the form of documents, there is no use of web databases and mapping the distribution of billboard points on digital maps. While the number of billboard supervisors through the DPMPTSP Tanjungbalai City office is not large, so monitoring billboards is a very difficult job and has received attention from the media and the public. Therefore, this study aims to build a geographic information system that can provide convenience for local governments in supervising and quoting billboards spread across the city of Tanjungbalai. This application is designed using PHP programming language and system database using My Structured Query Language. Qualitative research methods with observational data collection techniques, interviews, observations and literature studies. The location of the research was conducted at the Tanjungbalai Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP). The results in the application of geographic information systems are expected to make it easier to find the location of the coordinates of the distribution of billboards, especially in Tanjungbalai City and information on each of these points, in addition to the implementation of the billboard mapping application, it is expected to provide convenience for local governments in supervising and quoting billboards spread in the city of Tanjungbalai.
