Abstract

UPTD Elementary School 015903 Binjai Serbangan, located on Jalan Abadi, Kelurahan Binjai Serbangan, Kecamatan Air Joman, Kabupaten Asahan, is one of the educational institutions under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). The school faces difficulties in preparing uniforms for incoming students. It would be more effective if the new student data collection process were conducted using an integrated information system. The programming language used is PHP with a MySQL database, and the system is developed using the Sublime Text editor. This research compares two prediction methods: Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) and Simple Moving Average (SMA). The results show a difference in error values between the two methods, where the method with the smallest error is considered more accurate and effective. Prediction accuracy using the Single Exponential Smoothing method shows a MAPE of 24.56% for the number of students, and 24.42% for batik and sports uniforms. Meanwhile, prediction accuracy using the Simple Moving Average method with a moving average of 3 yields a MAPE of 20.44% for the number of students, and 5.48% for batik and sports uniforms. The results indicate that the Simple Moving Average method, with an error value of 20.44% for the number of students and 5.48% for batik and sports uniforms, produced the smallest error.
