INVENTORY CONTROL AT UD. KISMART
WITH THE CONCEPT OF SCM

UD. Kismart which is located on Jl.Latsitarda Nusantara VIII, Kisaran Naga, Kec.Kota Kisaran Timur, Kab.Asahan, North Sumatra. has an important role in meeting the basic needs of the local community. With its strategic location, this shop is one of the sources for local residents to obtain basic necessities. There is currently some instability regarding the demand for goods. This is demonstrated by the challenges in managing the purchase of goods efficiently. The unavailability of essential goods can hamper the sales transaction process and lead to loss of customers due to the inability to fulfill demand. On the other hand, having too many items in stock can also result in increased storage costs and potential wastage of unsold items. With a manual system that cannot cope with high transaction volumes quickly and efficiently, UD. Kismart risks losing business growth opportunities in terms of inventory in the future. To overcome this challenge, UD. Kismart needs to develop a more effective inventory control strategy. Using a holistic SCM approach, Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a complete business process in the form of a cycle that starts from raw materials from suppliers to factories to distribution activities to consumers. SCM performance measurement is very important to reduce costs, meet customer satisfaction and increase company profits and to determine the extent to which the company's Supply Chain performance has been achieved. The implementation of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) concept has proven to be able to speed up the process of inventory at UD. Kismart by optimizing the flow of information, materials, and finances between suppliers, distributors, and companies. With SCM, the waiting time in procuring goods can be reduced, so that stock availability is maintained according to customer demand.
